Heilongjiang University 2024 Short-Term Chinese Language Program for International Students

Program Name: Chinese Language Short-term Program

Duration: 1-2 weeks

Course Introduction: The program is divided into four levels according to the students' Chinese proficiency: Introductory, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced. According to the characteristics of different levels of Chinese learning, the curriculum is set up with 20 hours of lectures per week (50 minutes per hour). At the same time, the program also offers cultural experience lectures, such as tai chi, traditional handicrafts, Chinese tea culture, and general information about China. With small class sizes, students have more opportunities to participate in classroom exercises and exchanges, and experience Chinese culture. The program is open to foreigners who have no prior knowledge of Chinese or who have some basic knowledge of Chinese.

Admission Requirements:

1. Healthy body, age between 14 years old-60 years old;

2. A photocopy of the first page of passport;

3. Registration fee of 260 RMB.

Training Requirements:

Introductory class: master 300 or less Chinese daily words.

Beginner Class: Master 300-800 common Chinese words and be able to conduct basic daily conversations.

Intermediate Class: Master 800-2000 common Chinese words, be able to communicate fluently in daily life, be able to read and understand newspapers and magazines, and write medium-length articles.

Advanced Class: Master more than 2,000 common Chinese words, be able to communicate without obstacles, be able to read newspapers and magazines, understand movies and TV dramas, and be able to write long articles or essays in Chinese.

Main curriculum: Language courses mainly include Integrated Chinese, Conversational Chinese, and Chinese Pronunciation. Cultural experience lectures mainly include China Overview, Taichi, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, and Learning to Sing Chinese Songs.

Certificate of Graduation: Certificate of Completion of Chinese Language Study in the College of International Cultural Education of Heilongjiang University

Fees:

Tuition: RMB 1500/person for the first week, RMB 1900/person for two weeks

Room Fee: Double room in Area A - 41 RMB/person/day (room supply is low); Double room in Area C 60 RMB/person/day (room supply is plentiful), this price is based on two persons per room. The International Student Residence will adjust the rooms according to the specific situation, and the result of the room reservation should be based on the final confirmation result from the school.

Self-funded trip: RMB 800 (including transportation, accommodation, meals and entrance tickets to sightseeing spots), voluntary enrollment, minimum number of performers is 25.

Insurance: Whether or not the short-term students have purchased insurance in advance, they must purchase the designated international student insurance for 160 RMB upon arrival at the school.
